Sold by Southtown Guitar in Grand Rapids. included is a nice Unitec hardshell case. I am assuming that it is a 1960s Teisco based on the style and the fact that it was made in Japan. From any distance the guitar looks like it is in great shape(the blemishes are not overly noticeable) the only identifying markers on the guitar are two stickers on the back of the headstock that read"steel reinforced neck" and"made in Japan. scratches here and there from normal use-slight discoloration on the back of the guitar in a couple of places-notwithstanding the aforementioned blemishes. Though the tone control seems to basically have two settings-dark or bright. It features a single coil pickup with 1 volume and 1 tone control-beautifully simple. This Japanese vintage guitar is in overall good condition. This tuneful time-machine is ready to plug in and rip the walls off your garage.

The side-marker material runs the full length of the board, doubling as full fretboard binding– it also includes the nut, and looks very much like aged bone or ivory! All original.

Plus one pole-adjustable single-coil pickup, of the type made famous by Ry Cooder) the at-the-time unique 4+2 tuner arrangement, plus the completely unique fretboard side markers. So many of these fine guitars are now missing their little metal badges– BUT THIS ONE HAS ITS BADGE! These cool little small-bodied guitars feature a cunningly designed combination trapeze tailpiece/adjustable bridge. The cool and distinctive Teisco Del Rey badges of this era were only being glued to the headstock, and by the mid-80s the glue had lost its ability to hold the badges to the wood.

Neck itself has some relief in it(there is no truss rod adjustment) and with the new taller nut it's more set up for slide with higher action. Frets are smaller profile and do show wear but still retain a playable profile. Has a really cool looking metal mirror finish pickguard. There's one tone and one voume control and a slider switch labeled treble/solo. Has 2 pickups each with an on/off rocker switch.

The"B" and high"E" string plastic tuner bushings are missing. All aprts appear to be original except the nut which is a modern replacement.
